Young Artist Residency Concert

Piotr Kozłowski is a versatile Polish pianist and educator with a strong focus on chamber and contemporary music.

Kozłowski presents the culmination of his month-long residency at LAMP with a solo piano performance featuring works by Leevi Madetoja, Leoš Janáček, Karol Szymanowski, and Fryderyk Chopin. By placing these composers side by side, the program reflects the cultural complexity of Central Europe, which remains increasingly relevant in today’s political, economic, and social climate. Its unique culture and art, shaped by both Western and Eastern influences, reflect this in-between position.

The composers represented in this program, like Kozłowski himself, have lived between identities, languages, and borders. Many were shaped by exile, displacement, and a longing for home.
