Gifted Young Artist Fund
The future of music starts here.
2026 Gifted Young Artist Fund • November 1 – December 31
In 2025, we raised $30,000 thanks to the incredible generosity of the LAMP community. Now in 2026, we are reaching even higher with a goal of $50,000 raised by December 31.
Every year, remarkable young musicians join us in Lunenburg to share their art and passion with audiences throughout our community. They arrive with years of dedication behind them and exciting possibilities ahead, and at LAMP, they find the time, space, and support to take their next steps. The Gifted Young Artist Fund makes all of this possible by providing financial support to our musicians and helping cover the costs of their programming, allowing them to focus on what matters most: their music.
As a Nova Scotian arts organization, we've felt the impact of this past year's provincial budget cuts, but we don't want our artists or community to feel it as well. As we look toward the future, the generosity of individual donors will be more important than ever in helping us continue this work.
What your gift makes possible
For young musicians pursuing a professional career, the financial demands of a music education can be considerable. Many of the artists who attend LAMP have already invested heavily in undergraduate and graduate studies, often taking on student debt, while the costs of further training and travel continue to add up.
For these artists, finances can make the difference between pursuing an opportunity and having to pass it up. The Gifted Young Artist Fund goes directly toward removing these barriers, making it possible for young musicians to access the education and experiences that will shape their careers. Your gift helps ensure that talent, not finances, determines opportunity.

Beyond the concert hall
In 2026, we reached approximately 550 community members (and counting!) through LAMP’s outreach program.
A live musical performance can brighten someone's day, introduce a child to a lifelong passion, or bring a moment of comfort and connection to someone who needs it. Through our outreach program, LAMP brings these experiences into schools, care facilities, and community spaces across the region, bringing the joy of live music to people who might not otherwise have the opportunity to experience it.
These encounters are just as valuable for the artists as they are for their audiences. Performing in different settings and engaging with people of all ages gives young musicians a deeper appreciation for the role their work can play in the community, while making a genuine connection with people of the South Shore.
Nearly half the people reached were kids, the music brought right to their schools.
These visits give students the chance to experience music up close and personal, possibly discovering something that could stay with them for years to come. After all, you never know what might inspire a future musician!
Beyond the music itself, meeting young artists who are building careers in music lets kids see what a creative path could could look like. When a future in the arts can often feel uncertain, it's especially important for young people to know that such a future is possible.
We're proud of the people we've reached this year, and we’re hopeful that, with your support, we can continue expanding our outreach program to surpass our reach in 2027. Please consider making a donation to help us make that possible. Ways to give

In Their Own Words
“LAMP was the perfect experience for someone in the early stages in their music career. The combination of a warm and welcoming institution, a peaceful environment, and knowledgeable mentors provided the perfect inspiration to fully dedicate myself to my study. I am already missing the focus that I was able to find through this program!”

“This Academy helped me to strengthen my grasp of the Italian language, vowel accuracy, and laryngeal registration. These concepts, combined with the humanity that this environment cultivates, led me to expand both my knowledge and my heart.”

“The most incredible learning experience I’ve ever had!”
“Invigorating, thoughtful, genuine. Everyone was there to make music, have a good time, and advance our craftsmanship, and it felt like we were doing all three effectively.”
